Speaker: Brian Haratsis

is highly regarded as one of Australia’s foremost strategic advisors with more than 25 years experience as an economist, futurist, and strategic planner.

The ‘Big Australia’ debate emerges every three-four years in line with election cycles. is highly regarded as one of Australia’s foremost strategic advisors with more than 25 years experience as an economist, futurist, and strategic planner.

It reflects the difficulties experienced by Federal and State governments in adequately planning regions and cities or delivering infrastructure that can address climate concerns and congestion, reduce housing prices and provide accessible community facilities and services.

The outcome of this debate will have major implications for transportation engineers and planners. In his recent book: Australia 2050 – Big Australia?

Brian explored these issues and identified shifts in processes and thinking that could underpin a liveable and successful Big Australia.  Brian’s analysis isn’t about capturing everybody’s imagination with a breathtaking new idea or bold new infrastructure concept and it isn’t intended to be every answer to every challenge facing Australia over the next 40 years. It is about exploring the opportunities and challenges and beginning the discussions we should have started years ago.

Please register for this free seminar by Monday 20th June 2011

Security passes will be prepared for collection at the ground floor reception based on your RSVP.  Please allow a few minutes to pass collect your tag and reach the Theatrette.
